The best tennis players in the world rack up millions of dollars in prize money over their careers, but even someone like Novak Djokovic, who has won more than most, doesn’t make the majority of his money on the court.

Djokovic has attracted notable business partners during his career, and it was these payments that made him one of the richest men to play the game.

The Serbian tennis icon and GOAT contender has a hugely lucrative partnership with Lacoste.

Djokovic has lost a few notable sponsors following his Australian Open saga and refusal to get vaccinated, with French automaker Peugeot and multinational software company Ultimate Kronos Group lending their support to the Grand Slam winner at 21 times.

Other sponsors chose to ignore his position as a private medical matter.

“We’re waiting to see where he stands in relation to everything he’s been through,” said Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.

“The principle of vaccines is that it is something private. We value personal freedom.

“Everyone can decide. We can be for or against. That’s our position.

Although it may have damaged his reputation with some, it seems that Djokovic still has huge commercial value for potential sponsors.

Alongside kit suppliers Hublot Head and Asics as well as Romanian financial heavyweights Raiffeisen Bank.

After winning Wimbledon in 2022, Djokovic had banked $158,996,253 in career prize money, largely from the 88 ATP Tour titles he won.

Very early in his career, he established his own charitable foundation with the stated goal of helping children from disadvantaged communities grow and develop in nurturing and safe environments.

His foundation has done extensive work in the Balkans and Djokovic and his wife Jelena have received several awards for their humanitarian efforts.

Apart from his lucrative overseas partnerships, Djokovic is also the face of state-owned Telekom Srbija.

He previously had business relationships with sportswear and equipment specialists Adidas, Nike and Uniqlo.

Djokovic has been represented by sports and talent agency IMG Worldwide since 2012, having previously been with CAA Sports.

How much is Novak Djokovic worth in 2022

Djokovic’s net worth in 2022 has been estimated at around $220m (£178.8m).

Most of his business interests are run through the company set up by members of his immediate family.

The company, known as Family Sport, began its relationship with projects in the hospitality industry, including the Novak Café & Restaurant franchise.

Novak’s father, Srdjan, and uncle Goran are responsible for much of the day-to-day running of the business, which has grown to include real estate, the organization of sporting/entertainment events and the sportswear industry.

Djokovic recently acquired an 80% stake in biotech company QuantBioRes in hopes of improving global health in the wake of the recent pandemic.

Djokovic owns a vegan restaurant in Monte Carlo and has also launched his own line of nutritional food products, called Djokolife.

He will become the third highest paid tennis player in the world when Serena Williams leaves the game.
