Slovenian NLB completes integration of Serbian loanee Komercijalna

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 3 (SeeNews) – Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB) from Slovenia [LJE:NLBR] completed the integration process of Belgrade-based Komercijalna Banka [BEL:KMBN]It said.
After obtaining all regulatory licenses, as well as registering the merger with the Commercial Registers Agency, the integration process of Komercijalna Banka and NLB was successfully completed and from April 30, 2022, the bank Serbian operates under the new name NLB Komercijalna banka, NLB said in a filing on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange last week.

Based on the merger, NLB Komercijalna Banka is its universal legal successor to Komercijalna Banka, NLB said.
“The NLB Group banks will be successful in growing and increasing their market share organically, however, we are closely monitoring developments in our home region of South East Europe and will not hesitate to analyze and address potential value accretive opportunities also for mergers and acquisitions – NLB has the ability to buy banks and/or portfolios in any of our existing markets, as well as other markets in region, becoming a true regional champion,” said NLB CEO Blaz Brodnjak.
NLB completed the acquisition of an 83.23% ordinary stake in Komercijalna Banka for €394.7 million ($414.7 million) on December 30, 2020, becoming Serbia’s third-largest banking group. In April 2021, NLB increased its stake in Komercijalna Banka to 88% following completion of a takeover bid.
