Serbian bowler’s bizarre celebration after claiming wicket goes viral

The amusing antics of cricketers on the pitch are nothing new. One such incident caused players and fans to burst into laughter during the ICC Men’s European T20 World Cup qualifier between Serbia and Isle of Man.
Serbian pacemaker Ayo Mene-Ejegi’s hilarious celebration has gone viral on social media platforms. After each wicket he took, Ejegi celebrated by performing summer jumps and lying flat on the ground.
ICC shared the video clip of the bowler’s celebration on their official Instagram account. “Serbia’s Ayo Mene-Ejegi wicket celebration,” the caption read. The video garnered over 1.5 million views and several humorous comments.
“When you want to be a gymnast but your parents force you to be a cricketer,” one fan wrote.
“One of the funniest celebrations,” said another fan.
There was one fan who pointed out that such antics cannot be performed on the hard, dusty grounds of the subcontinent.
“You don’t know, the drummers were intentionally coming out, to see this celebration,” one comment read.
Ejegi was exceptional with the ball in hand and landed a four-wicket run. He finished with impressive numbers of 4/30 in his four overs at an excellent save rate of 7.50.
However, Serbia ended up on the losing side when their batting unit collapsed and could only succeed in pursuing the goal set by the Isle of Man.
