Opportunity Bank Serbia changes its name to 3Bank

BELGRADE (Serbia), Nov. 22 (SeeNews) – Opportunity Bank Serbia changed its name to 3Bank after changes in the ownership structure made last year, he said.
The bank will not change its trade policy, but will remain focused on supporting customers who have limited access to credit opportunities, the lender said in a statement on Sunday.
âThe 3Bank name is unique, recognizable and symbolizes the bank’s three strategic objectives: a positive impact on people, the planet and economic prosperity. The bank conducts its activities in such a way as to maintain a perfect balance between these three objectives, thus achieving neither endangers the other two â, declared Vladimir Vukotic, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
In November 2020, Opportunity Transformation Investments, headquartered in the United States, completed the sale of a 78% stake in Opportunity Bank Serbia to a group of four investors. The German Umweltbank acquired a 30% stake in the bank, the German GLS Gemeinschaftsbank took control of 19.9% ââof the capital, while the Luxembourgish Triodos Sicav II and the Dutch legal owner Triodos Funds bought 14% each.
Opportunity Bank Serbia is a community bank specializing in microfinance. It provides microcredit, rural, agricultural and SME loans and other financial services to clients in Serbia who cannot normally access financial services from traditional banks. Opportunity Bank has been active in Serbia since 2002 when it was first established as Opportunity Savings Bank. It successfully transformed into a bank in 2007 with a license issued by the Serbian central bank.
