An agreement on a new guarantee system was signed with the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), under which this financial institution is to provide $ 400 million as a guarantee for the approval of bank loans to businesses in Serbia, said the Minister of Finance. from Serbia, Sinisa Mali.

Introducing the Investment Incentive Agreement Confirmation Bill, he said the week before, two new guarantee schemes had been passed.

He explained that this concerned an additional billion euros on top of the guarantee schemes that Serbia already has and that it has launched with banks in order to mitigate the negative consequences of the pandemic.

“I am talking about another guarantee system that will be realized on the basis of the agreement between the governments of Serbia and the United States,” said the minister and added that the formal signing of the agreement on the new system guarantee and the finalization of the agreement between the DFC and the banks in Serbia will take place shortly thereafter.

Following this, Minister Mali stressed, the money will be made available to national companies for liquidity loans, innovations and investments.
