Man Utd ‘to pursue’ Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as £59.3m transfer alternative for Frenkie de Jong

But if a Barcelona midfielder move doesn’t materialize, Man Utd will pursue Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, according to FootballTransfers.
The 27-year-old Serbia international is valued at £59.3million.
However, European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also set to join the race to sign Milinkovic-Savic and both can offer Champions League football, unlike United.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke said GiveMeSport“I think he’s someone United will be looking to bring into this midfield, and he’s probably more accessible than a Frenkie de Jong right now.

“So I think United will try to do something about it and try to bring him to Old Trafford despite all these years of speculation about his possible move there.”
United may need more than one signing in midfield.
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard will all leave the club when their contracts expire later this month.
Pogba is linked with a return to Juventus, where he has made a name for himself on the world stage.

Like Pogba, Lingard is also attracting interest from Serie A.
West Ham would also like Lingard.
The midfielder spent the second half of the 20/21 season on loan at the East London club.
