Liverpool transfer news – Philippe Coutinho claim, Patson Daka deal, Thiago Alcantara dropped

Liverpool could have a big advantage in the race for Neuhaus
Liverpool are monitoring 24-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, but it is not yet clear whether they will make a move for him during the summer transfer window, writes Matt Addison.
ECHO understands Liverpool have spotted the player but cannot tap into the market for a midfielder this summer as their priorities may lie elsewhere.
Florian Plettenberg, chief journalist of German media Sport1, told ECHO during a Florian Neuhaus special podcast what Liverpool fans might expect if a move happened – although he also warned that it was more than possible that Neuhaus could stay in Gladbach for another 12 months.
Plettenberg said:
“Klopp has shown he can develop players and I’ve never heard of a player who couldn’t imagine working with him!
“Klopp knows the [agent] de Neuhaus and the [agent] de Neuhaus knows Klopp very well, so this could be the perfect match – he would fit very well.
âIf you talk to him, you can see he’s very open-minded. He knows what to do.
“Neuhaus is one of the five best midfielders in the Bundesliga. He has the quality and the talent to make his breakthrough for a top club and he plays consistently.”
