Kostic remains at Frankfurt on an annual salary of 5 million euros
German broadcaster Sport1 are now reporting that Serbian superstar Filip Kostic would like to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt after all.
According to German broadcaster Sport1, transfer talks between Eintracht Frankfurt and Juventus Turin have broken down and Filip Kostic now looks likely to sign a contract extension with his German club. The German media source claims the vital provider of 63 assists for the club in all competitions over the past three seasons will remain in the German financial capital.
The reason for the sudden about-face, according to Sport1, is that SGE sporting director Markus Krösche chose to go all out with his own finances. It has long been considered reliable information that Eintracht have offered the Serbian winger a salary of around 4 million euros per year if he signs new working documents.
This tender would now have been increased to 5 million euros. If this information turns out to be correct, Kostic will join German national team goalkeeper Kevin Trapp as Frankfurt’s highest-paid professional. No other German football media sources currently corroborate the report.
