Thursday, January 13 brought another round of rumors that Arsenal are pushing for Dusan Vlahovic. Although it would cost the Gunners a fortune, that’s not stopping sporting director Edu from kicking the tires at Fiorentina for a new star striker.

Aston Villa have done some serious business this winter, both indoors and out, and that hasn’t stopped today either.

Everton may have lost Lucas Digne to Villa, but they also brought in a player.

Burnley consider replacing Chris Wood shock

According to Daily mail, Burnley are considering a swoop for former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll as a replacement for the recently deceased Chris Wood. Carroll is currently playing on paltry wages in a league with Championship side Reading, where he has scored one goal in 500 league minutes.

He had two of the best goals disallowed you’ve ever seen a few days ago, however, with a bicycle kick and a half-volley both ruled out for offside. A sign of things to come?

Newcastle biding its time

According to a report by Luke Edwards of the Telegraph, Newcastle are slowing down deals with players coming from overseas. It looks like the next few days will be slow on the Magpies’ front, but a defender is still on the cards heading into deadline day.

I don’t think there will be any other signings made before Watford. Any progress is made with overseas based players and that is also proving slow again. The hope is to sign a CB on a permanent deal next week and then pause to allow the market, especially loans, to open up. #NUFC

Arsenal close in on Arthur

According to freelance journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the rumors of Arthur at Arsenal are pushing towards reality. The player reportedly agreed to the deal.

The deal could be accelerated further, according to Goal Correspondent Charles Watts, due to Granit Xhaka’s red card in Thursday’s EFL Cup semi-final against Liverpool, leaving the Gunners even thinner in midfield.

Aston Villa after a substitute goalkeeper

Aston Villa are making move after move, and they have reached agreement on another, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The report says Villa are okay with Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who is on loan at Sheffield United. The 32-year-old Sweden international lost his place in the Blades’ starting line-up to Wes Foderingham, and now he could move to Villa Park where he is likely to support Emiliano Martinez, who is having a bumper season. Sheffield would have to agree to release him from his loan for the deal to go through.

29-year-old mate Jed Steer is currently Martinez’s replacement.

Olsen’s loan would eventually be terminated – and he would therefore join Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season. But it’s not quite settled yet.

Tecatito moves to Spain

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jesus Corona has left Porto and will move to Spanish side Sevilla after an imminent medical. Tecatito had fallen down the pecking order in Portugal but are suddenly relaunching their season at a club making a surprising push for the La Liga title, with Sevilla currently sitting second in the table.

Jesús Corona will sign his contract until June 2025 as Sevilla’s new player in the next few hours. Agreement to be concluded and announced this week after medical tests. 🤝🇲🇽 #Seville

Newcastle are still pushing with Sevilla for Diego Carlos, but the fee is not agreed as things stand.

No offer from Arsenal for Vlahovic yet, but rumors mount

According to Joe Barone, Fiorentino general manager Arsenal have yet to submit a bid for attacking sensation Dusan Vlahovic, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from mounting. “We are ready to consider any offers we receive for Vlahović – no offers are on the table at the moment,” Barone said.

Yesterday, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs reported that Arsenal were pushing for Vlahovic but the Gunners were struggling to reach an agreement with Fiorentina.

I understand Arsenal are still trying for Dusan Vlahovic. Any January deal hinges on persuading the Serb. Fiorentina are open to a sale, but a summer move even more likely. Vlahovic wants #UCL Soccer. It is not true that he demands 300,000 a week.

— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) January 12, 2022

Michael Delaney reported that the difference remains the structure of the deal, as Arsenal want to make a tiered structure while Fiorentina want the full fee up front. the evening standard reported on Tuesday that Arsenal were “ready to intensify discussions”.

Everton sign El Ghazi on loan

As Everton sent Lucas Digne to Aston Villa just a day ago, they brought a player back from Villa Park 24 hours later. 26-year-old winger Anwar El Ghazi arrives on loan for the rest of the season. The Toffees did not say if there was an option to buy at the end of the campaign, but Reports by Fabrice Romano There are.

Villa sign a young Scottish defender

According to Football Insider , Aston Villa have agreed to sign 17-year-old centre-back Kerr Smith from Dundee United. It was also reported elsewhere in the last 24 to 48 hours.

The young Scotland youth international is rumored to be followed by Crystal Palace, Southampton, Manchester United and Everton.

Aston Villa have done big business this winter, already confirming the signings of Lucas Digne from Everton and Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona. This makes Smith the third signing in the window for Villa.
