DUBAI, 17th February, 2022 (WAM) — G42 Cloud, a subsidiary of G42, the leading artificial intelligence and cloud computing company based in the United Arab Emirates, and the Office of Information Technology and Administration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding Agreement (MoU) within the framework of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The new agreement will see both parties progress in the joint development of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing solutions across all sectors, with a focus on healthcare, business and finance. This is in line with G42 Cloud’s commitment to strengthening its overall cloud offering, as well as the Serbian government’s aspirations to advance its AI capabilities.

The signing ceremony took place at Expo 2020 Dubai during the investment conference organized in conjunction with the State Day of Serbia, where the MoU was signed by Talal Al Kaissi, CEO of G42 Cloud, and Mihailo Jovanović PhD, Director of IT and eGovernment Office.

The collaboration is a step towards the potential implementation of a hybrid cloud infrastructure in the state data center in the city of Kragujevac, with the aim of improving the quality of e-government services in Serbia, to encourage the development of the digital economy and to offer modern cloud solutions to business users. in Serbia and South Eastern Europe.

Commenting on the MoU, Al Kaissi said, “We are very happy to sign this MoU with the Serbian government to enable digital transformation, build on Serbia’s national policy to implement solutions based on the cloud and strengthen its technological ecosystem and its talents.

“With this new alliance, we are ready to foster knowledge sharing, implement a cloud-first strategy for Serbian businesses, and enable digital transformation to generate long-term and sustainable value,” said- he added.

On his part, Mihailo Jovanović said: “The Republic of Serbia has recognized the importance of the development of artificial intelligence and is seizing the opportunity in the era of the fourth industrial revolution to become a regional technological and scientific leader. By constantly investing in innovation and knowledge, we ensure increased economic growth and therefore a better quality of life for our citizens. Investments in Serbia are increasingly developing in areas that require sophisticated knowledge and expertise, and less is invested in labor-intensive activities.

“The potential cooperation with the G42 in the field of the development of artificial intelligence is another confirmation of all the previous results of the government of the Republic of Serbia and gives both sides the opportunity to take a common step towards new new solutions and innovative products”, he added.
