Most or all of the products presented here come from our partners who pay us. This can influence which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our ratings. Our opinions are ours.

NerdWallet’s credit card experts have reviewed nearly every major card on the market, as well as some noteworthy products from smaller issuers. Follow the links below for reviews of over 150 cards.

How we rate credit cards: NerdWallet credit card editorial ratings are assigned on a 5-star scale based on the value they provide to the user. Each card is compared to others in its category – rebate cards vs. rebate cards, balance transfer cards vs. other balance transfer cards, etc. In general, the notes should be interpreted as follows:
  • ★★★★★ 5.0 stars – best-in-class cards.
  • ★★★★ 4.0-4.9 – cards that offer good to excellent overall value.
  • 3.0 to 3.9 – cards with good value in specific situations or for specific users.
  • ★★ 2.0 to 2.9 – cards that offer less than standard value for most users, although some may find them useful.
  • ★ 1.0 to 1.9 – cards that offer low value and should be avoided.

Using ratings when comparing: When one card has a higher rating than another, it means that the card will generally offer more value to more users in more situations. But the lower rated card might actually be a better choice for you, more precisely, according to your priorities. Full reviews provide context for the reviews.
