Chinese company Hainan Airlines chooses Liaoning Fangda as investor

Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) said it has chosen Liaoning Fangda Group as the proposed strategic partner, but only an interim agreement between the group and the airline administrator has been reached.
The insolvent subsidiary of the HNA group said in a stock market file that if the diversified Beijing-based distributor of carbon, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and steel products finalizes its investment, it will become the airline’s majority shareholder. At present, the main shareholders of Hainan Airlines are Grand China Air with 24.3%, Haikou Meilan Airport with 5.13%, HNA Group with 3.53%, Changjiang Leasing with 3.53% and China Securities Finance Corporation Limited with 2.75%, among others. The remaining shares of the carrier are held in small amounts by other Chinese citizens.
For its part, the Liaoning Fangda group is owned by 48-year-old billionaire Fang Wei. As previously reported, the company established Hainan Large Aviation Development Co Ltd with a war chest of 30 billion yuan ($ 4.63 billion) in June with four of its subsidiaries.

Pošta Srbije reports Air Serbia for flights to the Far East

Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade) is expected to launch flights to unspecified destinations in the Far East in 2022, according to PoštaSrbije, Serbia’s national postal operator.
In a press release announcing a new partnership between Serbian and North Macedonian postal services, acting director of Pošta Sribije, Zoran Djordjevic, said the national carrier planned to start services to the Far East “soon.” .
