“The Open Balkans Initiative (Otvorni Balkan) is a crucial process for the survival of the economy and jobs in Serbia,” said Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Äadež, announcing that from next year, Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia will use a single work permit and information system for citizens of the three countries.
âPresident VuÄiÄ has already met Edi Rama in Glasgow on the sidelines of the regional cooperation conference. Yesterday the Prime Minister of Montenegro came to Belgrade to discuss this issue. We are working to promote regional cooperation and regional economic space, âsaid adež.
âWe have problems with the workforce. The job market is getting really problematic. We need to find ways to grow the business and do new business and we need a space where we can do the work and people with whom we can do this work, âsaid Äadež.
He stressed that the Serbian president’s idea is to âcooperate and ensure that we live as one economyâ. âTransportation costs are increasing. In view of this, and under the auspices of the Open Balkans initiative, we have already shortened the road transport route between these three countries. Today it takes a truck a day to travel the distance between Albania and Serbia. It really saved companies a lot of money, âadež added.
