Bulgaria’s industrial production growth slows in August
SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 10 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian industrial production rose 16.5% year-on-year in August, following a revised annual rise of 18.0% in July, the statistics bureau said on Monday, citing preliminary data.
In seasonally adjusted monthly terms, industrial production edged up 0.7% in August after a revised 1.1% rise in July, the National Statistics Office (INS) said in a monthly report.
The highest annual growth rate among the index components was again recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector, where production increased by 51.3% in eighth month of 2022. However, the sector saw only a slight monthly increase from July.
A decline in production – both monthly and annually – was only recorded in the mining and quarrying industry.
The manufacturing sector reversed its monthly production decline of July, revised to -1.5%, and instead recorded a monthly production increase of 1.2% in August.
