Accountants and companies ask for the postponement of the tax law and electronic invoices

The Serbian Association of Entrepreneurs and the Serbian Chamber of Accountants called for the postponement of the implementation of the Law on Taxation and the Law on Electronic Invoicing due to technical and systemic problems in their implementation.

“We call for the postponement of the tax law and the e-invoicing law until the technical and systemic issues are resolved and the business environment is sufficiently improved for domestic investors,” Milena said. Amon from the Association of Serbian Entrepreneurs at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Finance.

She added that the state should provide a working system for businesses. The president of the Serbian Chamber of Accountants, Snezana Mitrovic, said that great efforts have been made to highlight the problems arising from the implementation of these two laws.

“In January, during the meeting with the Ministry of Finance, we highlighted the possible shortcomings arising from the tax law, and very few of our proposals were accepted. We understand that by implementing these two laws, the state wants to implement a fair tax policy, but these regulations must be free from systemic errors,” Mitrovic added.

According to her, the law on electronic invoicing is already creating problems in its implementation in the public sector because the tax administration is still not using the electronic invoicing system, although it should have already been linked to the base database of incoming invoices that are created on the basis of tax invoices submitted by taxpayers via electronic tax devices.

Mitrovic also said that companies and accountants are asking for the implementation of the law on electronic invoicing to be postponed, for the tax administration to create an electronic invoicing system and for the relevant databases to be linked.
